Poker Introduction

The most simple explination that we can give for Poker is that it is a game in which the goal is to get a better hand than the other players. There are some forms of Poker where your goal is to beat the dealer or yourself... We'll explain this more later on.

Types of Poker

Here is a very brief review of the most popular online Poker games that are played today.

Texas Hold'em

Texas Hold'em, also known as hold'em or holdem, is one of the fastest growing and most popular form of community poker online. You are delt two cards in the begining, known as your pocket, or hole cards. With those two cards, you can make up your poker hand using the community cards, also known as the river.

Ohama Poker

Omaha poker is very similar to Texas Hold'em and is known as a variation of Texas Hold'em. Rather than being delt two hole cards, each player is delt four and then they make up their hands with the community cards.

Three Card Poker

Before you are delt your cards, you are given the option to place two different bets, or just one bet. One siginifies that you are betting to get one pair, a striaght, or any other combination of hands, other than a high card. Another bet will be the ante -- this one signifies that you are playing against the dealer. The dealer deals out three cards and these are the only three cards that you will receive.

7 Card Stud

7 Card Stud is a demanding form of poker, where there are a lot of cards on the table. Using a combination of skill, memory, and strategy, anyone with enough dedication can become a master at this game.

Let it Ride

The goal of Let it Ride is to get a pair of 10s or better using the three cards which are dealt to you and use two community cards given to the dealer. You are aiming to beat the dealer in this game.

Video Poker

Video poker is based on the five card draw style of poker. It is played on a console that's similar to a slots machine.
